See You at the Book Fair this Sunday

We are thrilled to announce that it is once again time for the annual Aidan Book Fair! This beloved Aidan tradition is a wonderful opportunity for our families and friends to support the school, while also promoting reading as a fun and enriching activity for our children. Please join us!

When is the Aidan Book Fair?

Sunday, October 6th from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Parent volunteers will be on-site until 6:00 PM to answer any questions you have, but any purchases you make until the store closes at 8:00 PM will be eligible. 

Where is the Aidan Book Fair?

Politics & Prose Bookstore, 5015 Connecticut Avenue, NW. The Aidan table will be located on the bottom floor in the children and teens section in front of the entrance to the coffeeshop. There is parking both on Connecticut Ave. as well as in the lot behind the building.

Why should I go to the Aidan Book Fair?

To Shop! 20% of book sales at Politics & Prose will go to support the school. You can help the school AND get a head start on your holiday shopping. Be sure to tell Politics & Prose staff at check-out that you are with Aidan Montessori School.

In addition, while you shop your children can enjoy dramatic book readings by Mountain Silverbell Teacher Hilary Thain (10:30 AM), School Librarian Nell Stewart (11:30 AM), and Head of School Kevin Clark (1:30 PM). Readings will take place at "Rabbit's Hole" area of the children's section.

To Donate! This year there will be two ways you can donate:

• You can purchase books to donate to Aidan's school library. We will have a wish list curated by Aidan's librarian available that day from which you may choose.
• The Aidan community will once again support the Bright Beginnings Child and Family Development Center, which provides child care and other services to DC families who are in transitional housing. We'll have their wish list of books available at the Book Fair. Choosing one (or two!) books together is a wonderful way to introduce your child to the importance of philanthropy!

To Eat! Comet Ping Pong, a pizza restaurant a few doors down at 5037 Connecticut Avenue NW, has generously agreed to donate 15% of participating sales on October 6th to Aidan. Just be sure to write "Aidan Montessori" at the top of your bill when you turn it in.
