Please Welcome Katia Kozhakova, Aidan's Incoming Dogwood Primary Teacher

Dear Aidan Community,

We are happy to announce the Lead Montessori Teacher for the Dogwood community for the coming year. Ekaterina (Katia) Kozhakova, comes to us with six years of experience as a Lead Montessori Teacher in Primary classrooms. She earned a master’s degree in education from Loyola University, and she completed her Primary Montessori Training at the Washington Montessori Institute. Ms. Kozhakova is a practitioner of mindfulness, and this is a passion that she plans to bring to the classroom.

We had many qualified candidates apply for this position. In the end, it is not just qualifications and experience that matter, but also “fit” in terms of being the right fit for the classroom and the whole school community. The search committee is convinced that Ms. Kozhakova will be a positive member of the Aidan community. We were impressed with contemplative, peaceful demeanor, and we were encouraged by her references, who described her as “...graceful, magical and an authentic Montessorian,” who “provides the best for her students.” Common descriptions of Ms. Kozhakova included, “open, calm, peaceful and respectful.”
