All In for Aidan: Community Celebration Series

The year 2021 officially marks 60 years of Aidan Montessori School. Since its founding in 1961, Aidan has inspired a love of learning in generations of children and continues to build on its tradition of Montessori excellence. With each new year, our community and global family continues to grow. While the pandemic has made it more challenging to gather together in person, we always appreciate opportunities that celebrate our amazing community.

Therefore in honor of our 60th anniversary year, we are excited to introduce our community celebration series featuring monthly virtual events and activities - ALL IN FOR AIDAN.  For the remainder of the school year, we invite all members of the Aidan community to participate in these exciting monthly events and activities. Our goal is to celebrate Aidan, to connect with our community, and to build excitement for next year's 60th Anniversary Celebration.

Featured below is a preview of ALL IN FOR AIDAN, our community celebration series. Additional details regarding each activity and event will be coming soon and we hope you can join us for these virtual festivities.

Collaborative Community Art Project

Throughout the month of January we invite Aidan students, family, faculty and friends to participate in our collaborative community art project. Everyone will receive a paper leaf cutout in the shape of the leaves featured in Aidan’s school logo, and will be asked to decorate that leaf using the art media of their choosing. Once complete, all decorated leaves will be returned to the school where they will be collected and arranged into a design by our Art Teacher, Ms. Skor. A timeline for this project and additional instructions will be shared with our community the week of January 11.

Community Service Food Drive - February 8-22

Due to the pandemic, we have shifted away from our traditional Community Service activities of assembling snack bags for SOME and activity kits for Children’s Hospital. Instead, we will be hosting a community-wide food drive where we will be collecting non-perishable food items that will be donated to the Capital Area Food Bank. Item collection will begin the week of February 8 and additional details will be shared in February’s School Notes.

Virtual Bingo Night - February 19

Join us at Aidan’s Virtual Bingo Hall for an evening of free family fun. Grab the family and come enjoy several rounds of Bingo on Friday, February 19 beginning at 6:30 PM. Additional details on how to play and sign up for our Virtual Bingo Night will be shared in February’s School Notes.

Ode to Aidan - March 13

In mid-March, Aidan hosts its annual Auction to Fund Students in support of Financial Aid. This year’s event will be different from our traditional Auction, but will feature a virtual program intended to inspire, celebrate, and support Aidan. More details coming soon!

Creative Crafts - Date TBA

Get creative at our virtual community craft night in April. Join fellow Aidan friends and family and follow along as we create together. Additional details regarding date, registration and craft project will be announced in March.

Trivia & Takeout - May 21

Grab some takeout for dinner and join us for a virtual trivia night! Fun for the whole family, participants will enjoy three rounds of trivia beginning at 7 PM on May 21. Registration details and information will be featured in May’s School Notes so be sure to save the date!

We look forward to celebrating our community with ALL IN FOR AIDAN. Please stay tuned for additional information about these events and activities.
