¡Feliz vacación de verano! - An End of Year Spanish Update

by Natalia Lopez, Spanish Teacher

Upper and Lower Elementary

The Upper and Lower Elementary worked very hard on their projects for the Evening of the Arts. They are still working with grammar, reading books, and they're also role playing different scenarios to practice talking in Spanish. Here are some wonderful examples of the student work.

Summer Time!!

During the summer time I have a few poems in Spanish that you and your child can learn. The first poem is called "Tengo un Gatito Friolento" by Amado Nervo. The Second poem is called "Mariposa del Aire" by Federico Garcia Lorca. The final poem is called "En Mi Cara Redondita" by Gloria Fuertes.

Summer Vacation Work

During the summer break, this worksheet may be helpful for the Elementary students to keep track of their travels and activities and keep some Spanish practice going throughout the summer.

Encourage your child to continue speaking the Spanish language, and often ask your child how to say something in Spanish – to see if they can figure it out! Google Translate is a wonderful way to check their results, and help them to see the correct phrasing.

¡Feliz vacación de verano! Have a nice and safe Summer break!! I can't wait to see you next year!!
