What a grand work we accomplished on Sunday, January 28, 2019! A cast of 27 children and parents assembled 100 Art Kits to be taken to Dr. Bear's closet at Children's Hospital National Medical Center in DC. Each bag was decorated with stickers and contained crayons, a sparkly pencil, blank paper, coloring pages, puzzles and mazes. Quality Control manager, Jamie Pierpan (Red Oak class), oversaw efforts to ensure that each one also included a get well note from the Aidan Community. Here's hoping the patients and their families who use these while waiting in the ER, get at least half the joy we did in preparing them.
In case you missed this one, Aidan has a couple community service events on the horizon.
Our next community service opportunity will take place on Saturday, February 9 from 10:00-11:30 AM. Volunteers will be assembling snack bags for the clients of SOME (So Others Might Eat) and this activity is great for all ages!
In addition, Aidan will holding a food drive from February 11 to February 15. Non-perishable food items may be dropped off in the lobby at any time during this week! All donated items will be delivered to SOME.
