Dear Aunty Aidan,

How can I get my kids on board with healthier snacking?

Too Many Sweets

Dear Sweetie,

Who says good nutrition has to be boring, tasteless, or sugar-laden? You can keep your fridge and pantry full of wholesome products and get your children to make good choices with a little planning and preparation.

In advance of shopping and stocking, write a list together; remember, if it's not in the house, they can't eat it. Make an adventure of going to the market to purchase fresh/seasonal fruits/veggies and cheeses and crackers (if you wish).

Upon your return, together wash, cut (use a cutter like the one at school), and store pieces in small containers, thus controlling those portions. Place them within easy reach of those ravenous little fingers and watch as your little sweeties start to choose more appealing options.
