Hilary Thain joined Aidan in 2019 and is the lead teacher in the Mountain Silverbell Toddler community. Hilary began her teaching career as a K-8 teacher in elementary education, teaching middle school math and science in Ohio. Upon moving to New York City, she discovered her passion for Montessori and early childhood education. After learning more about Montessori, Hilary felt like she was reading her own thoughts and beliefs about how to teach and how to nourish the whole child. She found a kindred spirit in the Montessori philosophy and the paradigm of educating for peace. In New York City, Hilary helped open a new school, and then spent three years as an assistant in a toddler community. She then began the AMI Assistants to Infancy training for children from birth to 3. After completing her training, Hilary moved from New York City to Washington, DC and became the lead guide in a toddler community in Virginia before coming to Aidan.
Hilary originally hails from Akron, Ohio. When not in school, she enjoys spending time with family, watching movies new and old, biking, traveling, and baking.
