Zahra looks forward to each day of her fifth year at Aidan. She loves helping students develop character, community, cosmic purpose, and other foundations of peace.
Zahra fell in love with Montessori education as a Primary student in Colombo, Sri Lanka and felt compelled to become an educator when volunteering with children in inner-city Columbus, Ohio. After studying economics at the Ohio State University, she lived across the United States, teaching and developing education and human capital programs with Teach For America, New Sector, The New Teacher Project, and Education Pioneers. Experiences with a variety of programs confirmed her deep interest in Montessori education. She has since completed her Elementary Montessori Certification and an evidence-based graduate education program at Johns Hopkins University. In addition to being part of the Aidan community, Zahra recently worked with Montessori For All, an organization dedicated to bringing authentic Montessori practices to students around the country.
Zahra lives in Maryland with her husband and enjoys cooking, traveling, and studying world cultures and history.
