The Aidan JEDI Committee is excited to announce its upcoming workshop, "Getting in Alignment: A Holistic Approach to Solidarity" featuring guest speaker, Dane Edidi.

Join the JEDI (Justice, Equity Diversity and Inclusivity) Committee on Thursday, February 21 from 5-7 PM, to continue the How to be an Authentic Ally series with Dane Edidi who will share her experiences as an ally and member of the LGBTQ+ community. Together, workshop attendees will embark on a journey to continue creating a loving, understanding, empowering, and inclusive environment for our children and a safe-space for all.

Free childcare, refreshments and pizza will be provided. Attendees requiring childcare must pick their child(ren) up from ASP and escort them to the St. Thomas Church Auditorium prior to the event. Please be sure to RSVP.


Dane Edidi Biography

Dane Edidi is a Nigerian, Cuban, Indigenous, American author, playwright singer, songwriter, choreographer, actress, artist, performer and activist. She is a founding member of Force Collision and is the first Transwoman to be a two-time nominee of the Helen Hayes Award. She has also founded The Inanna D. Initiative, which curates, produces and cultivates events and initiatives designed to center and celebrate the work of TGNC Artist of Color.

In 2015 Edidi received an emerging Leader Award for her work with the D.C. Trans Community and is the GLBT History Project's 2018 recipient of the Mujeres en el Movimiento Arts Award. She grew up in Baltimore, Maryland singing jazz and utilizing her art as a tool for healing, revolution and collective liberation since she was a child, giving birth to several art advocacy initiatives.
