Please join us for our upcoming EPIC on Math, STEM and Testing in the Montessori Program on Thursday, December 13 at 8:15 AM. The first part of the session will begin with a presentation on Math by two of our Lower and Upper Elementary teachers, Grace Pasco and Julia Isaza. Following this Math presentation, there will be a Q&A session and panel discussion on STEM and Math with Jamie Rue, AMI Elementary Teacher Trainer at WMI/Loyola University. Together we will unravel the beautiful math strands that make up the geometry and math curriculum in the classroom.
The second part of the session will be led by our Head of Upper School Jimi Purse and will be dedicated to learning more about how standardized testing is used in the upper grades of Aidan Montessori School to inform our teachers of strengths and challenge areas for specific students and classrooms. These tests help provide a road map for our learning support services team to offer additional support to students in need. Come hear about how a recent change in our standardized testing provider has allowed Aidan to be much quicker and more effective at identifying student needs and providing targeted support.
