H.E.L.P. (How to Enjoy Living with Your Preteen) - Session 2
Many parents and caregivers are aware that the teenage years bring with them some major new parenting challenges. However, the earliest phase of adolescence-roughly ages 10 to 12-is actually when parents first witness significant shifts in mood, behavior and social relationships.
Please join Aidan's School Counselor Courtenay Labson for two morning sessions beginning at 9:00 AM on January 18th and February 1st, to explore what to expect from your pre-teenager and how to best navigate the parenting challenges that accompany this phase of development. The topics that will be covered include: forgetfulness, irritability, power plays, shifting friendships, social cruelty, new worries, and useful home strategies.
Having a preteen child brings with it many joys and opportunities, but is best approached with advance awareness and a robust toolbox. The H.E.L.P. program was created to prepare parents and caregivers for a smooth and harmonious transition period.
