Book Drive
all day
PA

We are excited to once again partner with Politics and Prose to continue the beloved Aidan tradition of the Book Fair. In light of the pandemic, this year's Book Fair will look a bit different. However, it is still wonderful opportunity for our families and friends to support the community while also promoting reading as a fun and enriching activity for our children.

Politics and Prose has reimagined their Book Fair partnerships with schools for the current year. In lieu of a single day dedicated to the Book Fair, we will be partnering with Politics & Prose for a week-long Book Drive from October 25-31, 2020. Whether you shop online or visit Politics and Prose in person, families will have the opportunity to stock their own shelves while supporting a great, independent (and local) book store. Unlike previous years, Aidan is not requesting any books for its library, and instead would like families to purchase books for themselves, their family, friends and loved ones, and Bright Beginnings (https://bbidc.org).

To purchase books for Bright Beginnings, check out our Wish List! Books purchased online from the Wish List will be collected at the store and will be picked up by a school representative following the book drive. If you are purchasing books in person, simply let the cashier know which book is to be donated to Bright Beginnings by mentioning the Aidan Montessori School Book Drive and your purchase will be added to the collection box at the store.

Bright Beginnings is a nonprofit organization that operates early childhood and family learning centers for children and families experiencing homelessness in Washington, D.C. Our librarian, Nell Stewart, has compiled a Wish List from which families may purchase books to be donated to Bright Beginnings. These books will be collected at Politics and Prose throughout the week of the Book Drive and will be later dropped off to Bright Beginnings. We are currently in need of a volunteer to help deliver the books to Bright Beginnings following the Book Drive. If you are interested in supporting this effort, please contact Denise Merkel.

We hope all members of the Aidan community will join us in supporting Politics & Prose, a great local business, and Bright Beginnings, a wonderful charitable organization.
