Mr. Joshua Ackil



Josh and Lauren Ackil joined the Aidan community in 2011 when their twin daughters, Zara and Leila, became Primary students. Josh is a founding partner of Franklin Square Group, a boutique government affairs firm representing high-tech and innovative companies in Washington, DC. He directs strategic advocacy and political programs for companies ranging from Fortune 100 leaders to venture backed start-ups. Prior to founding Franklin Square, Josh spent five years as the lead Democratic lobbyist and Vice President of Government Relations for the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI), a leading trade association representing the top high-tech companies in the world. He also worked in The White House and for the Leaders of both the House of Representatives and Senate. Josh served in the Clinton White House as Special Assistant to the President and Staff Director of The White House Office of Legislative Affairs, the President’s lobbying team. On Capitol Hill, Josh was the Associate Director of the Senate Democratic Steering and Coordination Committee under the leadership of former Majority Leader Tom Daschle. He was the chief liaison between Democratic Senators and the high-tech sector and Daschle’s advisor on technology issues. Josh began his career in Washington in House Democratic Leader Richard Gephardt’s leadership office.
