Dr. Brenda Haendler
Brenda Haendler is a mechanical engineer focusing on the technology and policy aspects of clean and renewable energy. A Senior Lead Engineer at Booz Allen Hamilton, she manages a team of over 30 PhDs that supports the Department of Energy’s Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA-E.) At Booz Allen she has also worked on a variety of other projects for the U.S. Biomass R&D Board, the Air Force Real Property Agency, and the Hawaii Clean Energy Initiative. Before joining Booz Allen she was a AAAS fellow at the U.S. Department of State focusing on international energy cooperation. She has an MS and a PhD in mechanical engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, and a BS in the same field from MIT. She and her husband, Will Plishker, have two daughters at Aidan; Callie is in the Lower Elementary and Alexa is in Primary.
