Going Out...
From Aidan’s youngest students to its oldest, cultural events, visiting artists and enriching experiences are an important part of school life. Toddlers may sink their fingers into a small tank of sea creatures placed on the playground, full-day Primary students may go out to see a performance at the Kennedy Center or learn from a visiting artist. Lower Elementary children are frequent visitors to the Smithsonian museums, and the Upper Elementary class takes a special overnight trip each spring to the Echo Hill Outdoor School on the Chesapeake Bay. There is so much to learn from beyond the school walls, and “Going out” is an important part of life in a Montessori classroom.
