Chinese Language School

Summer Program

Chinese at Aidan: Aidan Chinese Language School teachers introduce
children to Chinese in a way that makes it fun, engaging, and stimulating. We use the most up-to-date methods of teaching children a second language. The Summer Program is an extension of our Chinese Language Program which has been in place since 2001.
Summer Classes: The Beijing and Shanghai classes will run simultaneously, with a teacher and an assistant in each class. Each day will be divided into Language and Culture. Language lessons involve singing, dancing, games, role-playing, listening and speaking activities. We use the TPR (total physical response) method which teaches vocabulary through body movements. The Cultural activities typically include fan dancing, traditional Chinese songs, calligraphy, painting, Chinese jump-roping, and martial arts. This program is designed to be a “semi-immersion” experience. The fee includes traditional Chinese clothes, a Chinese music CD, materials for crafts, and snacks. Classes are limited to 20 students.
